This Drunken Shrimp is such a yummy pupu (appetizer)! My brother, Glenn, always makes this when we get together for potluck dinners at his home. You must use the small shrimp (51-60 count) since the shell is much thinner. It is marinated with flour, Hawaiian salt, pepper and of course, Gin! There is no need to devein or shell this tiny shrimp and you eat the whole thing, tail and all! It deep fries so crisp, that the tail is easily digested. When you dip it in the Sweet Chili Sauce …. its a winner!
Tip: If you have an outdoor wok, using the propane gas, the high heated oil makes it very easy to fry quickly and ensure a very crispy shrimp which is not greasy. The best part … no shrimp smell in the house

You can also use this as a dipping sauce for Drunken Shrimp, crispy won ton or gau gee, condiment on fried rice ..etc. It is also used in my Ono Corn Salsa. […]
