Thanks to All!

Remember me?? It’s been awhile since my last entry …needless to say, its been kinda hectic… but I’m back!

A million thanks to all who came and helped me with my craft fairs ! We were soooo fortunate to have great HOT weather for both of them! I must admit that I did tell my craft fair partner, Myron, to ‘turn on the a/c’ in which he gave me his usual distinct loud laugh. But truthfully, we were all happy that it didn’t rain!

Here is a display of my recipe cards using the pexi-glass stands that I ordered a few years ago. Michelle called them ‘my babies’ since I have to handle these fragile stands with care. Unfortunately, I ran out of slots, since I currently have 94 recipes … so I needed to be selective on which ones to display.

Luckily, I have my original pink and blue display boxes which I also display on the adjoining table. I’m running out of spaces on those too. I need to find another way to display my cards. If anyone has any ideas .. please email me ! I’m open to anything that won’t cost me an arm and a leg and a stomach! (had to add the last one ..sorry). I did use photo albums for people to see the cards with some of my photos too…. that was helpful to many.

This year, I printed all the photos that I have on my website that correspond with a recipe card. This gave people an opportunity to drool … I mean view the dish before deciding if they wanted the card. I had very positive feedback from the customers. It was almost like ordering from a menu. As “my friend Martha” would say, “Its a good thing!” …gee, can I get any cornier??!!

I don’t get my nickname Kitchen Mama for nothing. You know the phrase “Aim to Please”? Well, mine should be “Aim to Feed”. When we are at the craft fair, we get pretty busy and its hard to find time to get something to eat, so I normally make something for us .. like Spam Musubi or some type of finger food. At the Moanalua Craft Fair, I decided to make us my version of a Japanese Breakfast Bento consisting of nori (seaweed) scrambled egg rolls, link sausages stir fried with a little guava jelly (this adds a little sweet to the salty) and of course rice with a little tsukemono (pickled vegetables). Here is a look at the bento that we all enjoyed.

Thanks again to Myron and his family (wife Patti, daughters Monica & Michelle, son Miles & his wife Sandy), my wonderful friends Lori and Faith and my daughter Krislyn for all their help to make the fair such a great success!! Thanks to all who came to support what we do … it is really a natural high for me !!

Here’s wishing you all a very safe, healthy and Happy New Year !! It’s time to grind !!

Love,
Lindy “Kitchen Mama” :)
