Did I mention that I am the “pupu lady”? I enjoy making pupus, but I love seeing people enjoying what I’ve made. .. that’s really my ‘natural high’. This simple dish using kamaboko (fishcake) is easy to make and is very tasty! There are many versions of this dip, but I like to use dehydrated onions, which doesn’t have a strong onion bite and flavors the dip really well. This dip is best when made a day ahead to let the flavors blend.
Since this is one of my recipes in my collection of laminated cards, I served samples of this dip at my last craft fair and it was a great hit. I had a hard time keeping up with the crowd…I felt like those Costco ladies that serve all those delicious samples…haha!
Note: You can even use this dip in between 2 pieces of bread to make that great Kamaboko sandwich. Gee, doesn’t that bring back some good memories??

Lindy,
You are definitely THE “pupu lady”!! You know that I’m always calling you before every potluck I have to go to just to get your advice!! You’re always a lifesaver!!
I love this kamaboko dip especially since it’s soooo easy to make!! This one is always a hit!! I haven’t tried it with the dehydrated onions yet but I will the next time I make it!

Mmmm… yum. Kamaboko Dip! I’ve had this at several office parties, which was offered with Ritz Crackers on one occasion.
Have you ever heard of “Lomi Salmon Dip”? It’s simply Lomi Salmon incorporated into cream cheese. Really ono with Trisquit Crackers.
I can just hear your family and friends this past Super Bowl Sunday asking each other, “You ‘tink Aunty Lindy going bring us some Kamaboko Dip o’ what?” lol
