Hasu Kinpira

I love eating and making ‘tsukemono’ (Japanese pickled vegetables) and side dishes like this. Hasu Kinpira (Lotus Root) is like the ‘gobo’ (burdock root) kinpira, without all the work of slicing really thin strips. I like the added crunch that the hasu gives. It’s a great side dish at room temperature or cold.

Aloha! Thank you for the comment on my blog! Hopefully I can provide more enjoyable reviews for you in the near future! :P

I love tsukemono, too! As a japanese person raised on rice, I can appreciate the taste of a well pickled batch of tsukemono.

Thanks, Dale! I’m sorry that I didn’t check my site when you visited.
My husband and I really enjoy tsukemono …even when we were much younger and first got married. I always said that if you opened our refrig, you would think an elderly Japanese couple lived here…now we ARE that older Japanese couple ..haha!
I’m enjoying your site/reviews too .. I know its hard to keep adding entries …it does take time to take the photos, edit them and then write …but keep it up …many of us are enjoying it!! I love to read Tasty Island’s too …. it’s great !

Thanks again for visiting …I must thank Pomai too!
